Same principle, you drive to somewhere (banjul in the gambia) in a £100 car, but this challenge involves driving through desert, down beaches and through minefields. At the end the cars get auctioned for charity so it is not just organised for the fun but to help make some money.
I have a friend that has done it twice, once in a 18 year old fiat panda and once in a 16 year old vw golf.
