What is the difference between the two and how can I configure my phone and computer so when the computer is online my phone could also browse?

Still have a problem!! When I check the advanced tab under my Internet connection to allow other devices top connect (Step 2 a in the link) I get this message:

"Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The Windows Management Instrumentation information might be corrupted"

It advises to System restore but that didnt work. HELP!!!!
