Guinea pigs as pets? Thinking of getting one, but heard you should have two. If I did get one (or two) they would be indoor mainly but I could take them outside every evening on a leash lol. (I live in a 1st floor flat but have grassy areas around me)
What sort of cage is suitable etc, any advice would be great.

You can have either 1 or a group, but if you want a group they should be both/all female as a group of males will fight and you know what happens if you put male and female together. If you were to get 1 it wouldnt matter as long as they get plenty of company from you.
Im not sure about indoor guinea pigs/rabbits but for outside they would have a hutch (house) and a run on the grass. It is possible to keep a rabbit indoors, but as you say it would need "walking" or be allowed to run in a secure area or run.
I would recommend going down to a local pet shop (some garden centers do pets as well) and ask someone there. You should also get one of those books that will tell you all about guinea pigs. These are helpful as a reference for illness and diets etc.
