Japan is about to release their first Cybershot phone (following BRAVIA and Walkman phones). Here some specs:
- Cyber-shot branded
- 3 inch WVGA 16 million color screen
- 4 mega pixel CMOS AF camera
- 1 seg digital TV
- 2 GB built in storage
- comes in three colors
- IR simple
This phone is speculated to be the W54S and will be available in a few months.

I am not sure if you know this, but all Japanese companies use Japan as a whole as a beta tester so to speak, they asses the market and see if it will be viable to mass market this to the world.
Hence why you see that things that failed in Japan never make it in the final released for europe or are revised.
That gap has been closing over the years thanks to the net and you will see more and more world wide releases.
But yeah be greatfull that they do this, having used many Jphones over time I know the snags that come with these things especially the body work and paint terrible...

This screen has a total of 103680 pixels on it where as N80 has 146432 pixels so Nokia is far ahead screen wise even compared to SE Japan.
