Hi all
recently i just mod my K800 fonts and when i get back to the original font.
i just realize that the backup K800 fonts were european fonts.
which means there's no apac language character installed.
Does anyone here know how to get the fonts from?
cause i've been googling around even the chinese website but could not download any...
(sans-serif_chinese.ttf)
any help would be greatly appreciated...
HI all (EDIT)
im so happy that in the middle of my desperate"ness"
i found a way to get the font back!
Here
there is stated about a way just to activate the APAC language instead of Euro. apparently the whole font is already installed in the phone.
and now my phone is back to normal!
thanks! (esp to SE-NSE!)

just when reading inbox messages, the phone is silly big. not the usual tiny ones... that made me decide to flash...

huh?
the link corrupted?
what i did just refer to the SE-NSE and change the values of the fonts.xml
luckily, when modding the font, i did not mess with the sans serif, which means it's still preserved there...
here is the original apac fonts xml:
xml
engine cache_size="393216" default="yes"
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-serif_Chinese_Reg.ccc
/engine
engine cache_size="183296" default="no"
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-serif_Chinese_Bd.ttf
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-serif_Chinese_It.ttf
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-serif_Chinese_Bi.ttf
/engine
/xml
obviously, the one supplied in most website were similar, just its europe.
xml
engine cache_size="131072" default="yes"
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-Serif_Europe_Reg.ttf
/engine
engine cache_size="262144" default="no"
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-Serif_Europe_Bd.ttf
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-Serif_Europe_Reg.ttf
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/Sans-Serif_Europe_Bd.ttf
/engine
/xml
Hurray!
its just that simple.
but remembering that:
when i mod the phone, i just modify the xml to:
(lucky i did not replace the original fonts)
xml
engine cache_size="131072" default="yes"
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/YOURFONTNAME.ttf
/engine
engine cache_size="262144" default="no"
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/YOURFONTNAME.ttf
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/YOURFONTNAME.ttf
/tpa/preset/system/fonts/YOURFONTNAME.ttf
/engine
/xml
so basically it means that the original fonts are no replaced nor deleted.
so if i can "see thru" the folder, there should be my font and the original font....
sorry for bad english...

and also take note of the cache sizes.. maybe that too played an important role..
coz when i messed up my K810 default fonts... i just left the default ones lying there... so what i did was to download it via FAR.. and the obvious.. zero bytes.. but wot im after was the file name.. so thats wat i did. rename the edited fonts back to the default ones inside fonts.xml
you know wot happened... NO FONTS at all.. none is appearing.. thats why i decided to flash the phone.. no argue...

ohh... icic...
i did that too,
when i try to upload the tmes new yorker fonts sized 700kb inside the phone...
there's no font at all, just like u...
so straight away i change the font to something else...
btw cache size play important part i agree.
because when im using the eu fonts.xml, my phone go slower in navigation...

so maybe the size has something to do with the font sizes...
maybe like 5% more to cache for the machine to process sumthin lyk that..
