> Thinking of Buying a Bike
Bookmark topic
Despite recent troubles I am thinking about buying a motor bike. The way I see it is my car is just a massive ball ach, this month it's cost me £350 not inc fule and insurance (100 tax and 250 of things nicked).
What do I need to be able to drive a motor bike legally on the road and motor way. Want to be able to drive over a 125cc as well so can't just use the standard licence.

Check here for CBT (required to ride upto 50cc and required before taking a test for higher cc):
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/M[....]otorcyclesAndMopeds/DG_4022430
You then need to take another test to ride anything over 50cc.

I'd love a motor bike, a scrambler would be cool.

you will laugh but....... get a scooter dude.... i had one in uni... it totally held its price (infact i made £50 profit off it) tax was cheap, insurance was almost as cheap as my mini and running costs were laughable.....
not joking, best way to get around uni and no tests needed
i just sat my CBT - which is piss easy
otherwise you will need to sits al kinds of things for over a 125 matey......

Stick with the car, winters commin! Just don't use the thing so much. You could always look for a road tax exempt vechicle, there's another bill gone.
