> Buying a PS3
Bookmark topic
Ok so i live in the UK. here, PS3s cost £400 ($800) where in USA i heard they cost $400 (£200) so effectively half the price. What i want to know is, if i bought a PS3 online from an American website, and had it shipped over to the UK, would it still work over hear? I would obviously need to get a UK power supply but other then that i dont know why it wouldn't Thanks for any replies
Basically, will a USA PS3 work in UK?

Should all work. But remember that you may get charged for import tax, even if its a "gift" since you need to insure it.

Maybe a dumb question but are they region free? Like UK is PAL and USA is NTSC. Does this apply to PS3?

True unless the game developers decides to region lock it (although I can’t see that happening much).

Also, from what I read in the early days of the PS3, the whole reason it took a good few extra months to hit UK shores compared to USA and Japan is because the transformer (the power brick on other consoles) is built into it, like the PS2 was.
Because we use different voltages etc to the USA/Japan, they had to spend extra time swapping it out for a different one and testing it.
Short answer, I doubt it'd work in the UK, try a gaming forum for people with real answers though.
