hey ya folks!

i'm sorry if this has been posted a thousand times before ... if that is the case, please just point me to the threads, as i have already been searching for the last half hour or more now and cant find what i'm looking for.

what i am looking for is a way to be able to either move or delete files that are on the phones internal memory. how does one do this??

i was trying to tidy things up on my phone - its only a few weeks old and i'm not a big mobile user myself - and i put things in a place where i dont want them to be now ... but i didnt know it was going to be this hard to remove them from there!!

so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Some files cannot be deleted, but this should only be 2 or 3 wallpapers/ringtones.

If u want to free up memory, delete each item on its own, or check the info about each item to see if its protected.

well i havent checked to see how many exactly can't be moved but i've got a feeling its going to be more than just the 3 i'm wanting to del/move at the moment!!

righto, so this is what i've done:

i bought myself a new 2gig m2 card to replace the original 64meg m2 card that came with the phone ... i wanted to keep the original files that were on that 64meg m2 card and since they were files that came with the phone, i thought "what the hey!" i'll just put those things on the INTERNAL PHONE memory, so as to keep my new 2gig m2 card free from that stuff ... so i moved some files on there ... now i want to furhter tidy things up by either deleting some those files or simply, just move some of those files ... in particular, what i'm wanting to move or delete are 4 sound files "greeting.mp3", "sandman.mp3", "move it.mp3" and "sony ericsson.mid" ... i either want to delete them or i want to move them INTO the ringtones folder on the INTERNAL PHONE memory.

i just went back and double/triple/quadruple check if it was just 1 file or not and i was able to delete "move it", but the other 3 are still stuck there!!

are these files usually "protected" files??

is there any way at all to del/move these files??

any help greatly appreciated,

hmm,

those are typically protected ringtone files, u cant delete them and i dont think u can move them either, sorry!

but the shud only take a 2-3 megs of memory at most, so u wont free up much memory lol

mayb u can remove them by flashing ur phone firmware or somthin, but i cudnt tell u how! maybe search the forums maybe?
