With the price of the iPhone reduced by $200 to $399 from $599, I wonder how long do we have to wait before the P1i drops down to the $300 - $400 mark.
Yes the iPhone is not a true smartphone but it does do a fair amount more than a regular phone. So if
wants to compete it needs to be pay attention the iPhone's price.

I think P1i is reasonable priced at the moment. The first generation iPhone is garbage I think. A bit like buying poo in gold plated wrapping with an impenetrable (!) Apple seal!
That said, I think gen 2 or three will be a completely different story, but by then there will probably be google phones as well to compete with.
For now I think P1i will stay in price, at least until w960i is released.

After all, its a walkman branded device, directed at an entirely different market, even though it runs the same OS (correct me if im wrong), and has basically the same features.
Thats just my 2 cents.
For example, the w850 price wasnt affected when the k810 was released, only the predessor, the k800.

Apple has almost sold a million iPhones at the higher price, of course they are hoping the lower price will help sell more as the holidays near I really don't think the price drop was a desperation move.
I know the iPhone has its flaws, but then again so does UIQ 3 and thus all phones that run on it.

Regarding the P1, its already fairly cheap...it can go down a bit more, but not much

the p990 is only usd 350 now. I think p1 cost won't be more expensive than P990 a lot. 64 MB memory may only costs few busks.

p1i is 530 euros in belgium, i dont think its gonna drop maybe when succesor comes it will drop a bit maybe 399 but no lower.
