On my P1i there's a recurring vertical line on all shots. The line looks like a ray of smoked out pixels, and it's always in the same location (pictures attached.)

Is this on my unit only? If so, is it a hardware issue? Does it go under the warranty? It might not be a big deal but it's nonetheless disturbing for high end phone that is advertising its camera capabilities.

Thanks.

That's a horizontal line
Not sure if mine has it though, I'll have to check...

It's vertical if the phone is standing upright

It's also visible on the camera screen even before taking pictures and in video mode.

I've just checked and I don't appear to have 'the line'. Is it there at all times, what are the best circumstances to bring it out?

It appears all the time even when I'm just pointing with the camera. I guess light drowns it out sometimes but for the most part it's there always.

Is it safe to assume it's hardware?

While I'm at it I might as well ask about some other anomalies I experience with the camera:

1) It is SLUGgish in the absolute sense of the word. Whether I'm ponting, focussing or shooting it acts like a very old webcam. Transitions are very slow.

2) The flash keeps returning to "off" on its own whenver the camera app is restarted.

3) Photo quality is absolutely grainy and bleached compared to that of the P990's.

I would think that's the most likely explanation.

My camera app is very fast but then I come from the N-Series...
Photo quality is good although much worse than everyone expected for a 3.2mp SE camera. We were all expecting the camera out of the K800i but we haven't got it! My camera settings all remain how last used. I would kind of like them to return to flash off, macro off, normal settings!

Thanks for the input you've been a great help.

You think a visit to the SE center would do me good? I would think such a fault would be covered under the warranty?

What country are you in, how long have you had the phone and which operator are you with (or was it bought SIM-free)?
