The only way is to use Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion or BootCamp running Windows XP on an Intel Mac.

Sony Ericsson don't provide a Mac version of the Sony Ericsson Update Service.

I think that this is posted in the wrong thread first of all.

Second of all. I've been using a mac for quite a while now, and I'm almost 100% sure that Parallels wont do the job for you, the new version of Parallels wont flash you phone that is, Try using Bootcamp it should work there. VMWare i never tried and dont know if I can help you with it, so your best shot is to use Bootcamp.

Hope that helps.

Regards.

Updated my p1i to R6E30 via Parallels on an iMac. I was able to do so without any problems. I encountered some road blocks though when I tried restoring my back-up files via PC Suite. Bad idea! I had to format my p1i's disk because it became sluggish after the restore.

I just backed up my files via the 1gb m2, iSynced my contacts and calendar events, and just installed the apps again, after the format. Now my P1i is back to it's old speed, if not even faster for a bit.

parallels will let you do it, but its much better to use a bootcamped windows instalation and do it directly there.
