> A few Q's before I get a P1i
Bookmark topic
Folks, before I go out any get the P1, I have a few questions that needed to be answered... btw, I have P910i and its due for an upgrade. I have had it for 2 years and 7 months. Great phone.
1. How do I maintain the folders in contacts that I have created while moving to P1i?
2. Can I move my sms dictionary from P910 to P1? I have added a lot of works in the past couple of years and really makes life easy. I don't want to start adding them into my words again!
3. Finally, I am used to using a few programs on the P910 and was wondering if something similar is out there. The programs that I am using are: sman; smart birthday by Symbianware; Soft & Wireless' SMS scheduler and SMS Tones; remote P900?
I mean these are great apps which I use on almost daily basis... can't imagine a phone without one...
Thanks guys...

A: The P1i is quite similar to the the functions of M600i and P990i. I have used both mobiles. You can easily transfer your contacts to your P1i by sending the whole contact folder using bluetooth.

A: Nope. You can't

A: There was an SMAN for UIQ3 before but it was not signed and seems to be left undeveloped so no. You can use HandyTaskman or SwissManagerPro as a good replacement for SMAN. I think there is also a SmartBirthday app for the UIQ3 try searching SymbianWare. I don't know about RemoteP900 I have used this before on the previous Ps and it was the best remote control for the computer but I dont think there is something like it for the UIQ3.
Conclusion: dont get the P1i dude, it's like a beefed up P990i. Save yourself some troubles. Go get a Nokia N95 or E61i. I can trully say it will help you alot although you have to learn the UI coming from a touchscreen interface.

p1 may be a beef up to p990, but it's certainly a good replacement for p900, unlike p990 in which many, including myself, thought that a p910 is better still

If there is any choice between an N95 and a P1 the P1 wins hands down everyday of the week. No contest.

I concur. P1i wins due to its out-of-date technology and over-priced. P1i wins hands down. Absolutely no contest.

No, thats just having too high standards. The p1i wins because its construction and multitasking capabilities are better than the n95. Because its better for business users with a QWERTY keypad. because a touch-screen is infinitely better than standard-input and because of late, nokias quality control is as low as the mariana trench.
Plus I don't know why people compare the two. if you want a phone for multimedia, get an n95. No question. If you want it for business and multi-tasking, or if your at all business minded, get the p1i.

i wouldn't say that the p1i is overpriced at all. Its a shame that the p990 gave SE such a bad rep but my m600 is extremely stable.
Must admit i was really tempted by the n95 - thought that nokia had finally started producing decent phones again. Until i heard about the battery life and poor build quaility.
And as for calling the p1i old-fashioned because it only has wifi b - didn't SE choose that to save on battery life?
