We were moving house in March and lost my SE phone. At the time I was with O2 so I phoned them and asked them to block the phone which they did. I got a new sim and phone---paid O2 £50 for it---and now, emptying the last of our boxes in the garage, I found the phone. Is there any way that I can use it as a spare? I didn't receive any money for losing it as it wasn't insured so I'm not trying to cheat the system nor am I trying to sell it.
I would be most grateful for any advice.

Good luck with that I've been trying to get a phone of my own unblocked by O2 that was blocked without me reporting it lost or stolen and I am still having difficulties but to be fair I only started asking them to unblock it in April so I suppose I just need to learn to be patient!

Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately because I left o2 after having been with them for 4 years, I have been fobbed off wuith the excuse that they can't find my records. I'm sure if I wanted to go back to them they would soon find them!!!!

True Reggie!

Records must be kept for 10 years!!

And must not be withheld from the customer! and should be made available upon request, a small admin fee may be charged for supplying the details so long as it does not exceed £10!

Oh!

don't ever ask for a copy of your account...

it makes for some boring as reading....

I read all my notes once when I was still at orange...

"sub called in to add roaming"

that kind of exciting stuff...

but yeah..

O2 WILL have your details.... get onto them, get on peoples backs... it will soon be sorted!

More to the point, will they unblock it again? Phones that are blocked are often quite hard to have removed from the blocked IMEI list (which is shared across all networks) and they will obviously ask for some kind of payment if they can unblock it again.

Depending on how long ago you left them it's perfectly plausable they don't have your details anymore. The contracts we keep at work are stored for up to 18 months then sent to head office to be stored for a period or discarded. I've never known them to say they keep them for up to 10 years.

But I could be wrong, once that kind of thing goes out of the shop I really don't have that much of an idea what goes on lol.
