Cannot get any headset on my T68 to auto answer. I thought the problem was my HBH-20 bluetooth set, but now I have tried a regular HBH-10 and that will not work either. What setting am I getting wrong?? Help please. Thanks Matthew

go to the setting menu voice dialling and check the handsfree option with the # key as soon as you add voice commands first, magic word, voice answer etc

Matthew :
I guess you're talking about, if the phone rings,..it should transfer the call to the headset, right ?
go to :
Settings > handsfree > answering mode >
Set to "automatic"
This works for me with the HBH-10 and T-68.
And the bluetooth-mode can either be "ON" or Automatic",..doesnt matter in this case

having spoken to Sonyericsson i can confirm whilst using a bluetooth headset magic word & voice answering does not work. Voice dialling works by pressing the button on the headset and then speaking. Magic word & voice answering only work with personal handsfree physically attached to bottom of your phone. YES i also feel cheated at the reduced options with bluetooth headset.

@jh67
Yes I have tried this but it does not work. Seems to auto answer when I use the hands free on my radio hands free but not HPB-10 OR HBH-20

Gooner:
To my info it is not possible to automatically ANSWER (eg: after 2 rings) a call using the hbh10 (first Ericsson Bluetooth headset). Your phone can only automatically TRANSFER the call to your bluetooth-headset, but you still have to press the little button at your ear to "ANSWER" the call.
Indeed, magic-word doesn't work either. This would require that the headset listens to whatever you say, and "wakes-up" after the magic-word. This is not the case (IMHO) with the hbh-10 (you'll have to push the little button)...
Jan: I don't think that your mentioned setting has influence on the hbh10/20. That specific setting is only relevant for the wired personal headset...
Hope this sheds some light...

I feel cheated too.
I have been greatly disappointed to discover that to answer calls with models of headset such as the Nokia Wireless Headset HDW-1, and the Ericsson HBH 30 Bluetooth Headset (and all others, Plantronics etc) one has to be able to raise ones hand to the "answer" button on the headset. Surely it wouldn't be difficult to design (or modify) the mobile phone and/or headset so calls can be answered by voice without having to physically press the answer button on the headset? Or why can't you press the answer button on the phone to wake the headset, eliminating the need to raise your arm to press the button on the headset? Sounds simple doesn't it? But why have manufacturers not thought of it? And when people like me have raised it with them why has there has been a deafening silence?
I have tried contacting the Customer Services Departments at all the major mobile phone manufacturers about this issue and got nowhere, (I was hoping to speak to a scientist or engineer in R & D on the bluetooth side). In contrast, when one of my email enquiries was picked up by someone at Motorola in the USA the response was very different.

Hey guys you can answer your phone with the voice command on the hbh-30 when the phone rings the headset beeps you can then use the word answer or what ever word you specified to answer the call, not that hard 5 mins of playing around with it and what do you know bluetooth does have a use after all!!!!!!
