Sony Ericsson has launched a series of gold handsets called the Havana range and the trio will be exclusive to Vodafone. The devices include gold variants of the W880i and the W910i and a new device called the V640i.

All three phones are aimed at the music market to coincide with Vodafone's new MusicStation service, which allows users to download unlimited songs for £1.99 a week.

The V640i comes with expandable memory that can support up to 4GB and a dedicated music key. It also has built-in Track ID software and FM radio. Non-music functions include a two megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, video recording, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. It will also be available in black.

Each device in the collection is a 3G handset and the range will be available in the coming months.

Why? Noone complains about car manufacturer putting badges on thier cars or Sony branding the Playstation range. And I quite like the RED and GREEN buttons on my V630i.

I have no problem with branding especially a brand I consider to be a premium brand such as Vodafone, but I don't like features being locked out as used to happen with MP3 ringtones.
