> faulty k750i Help Please

Hi All,
I purchased a k750I In november last year (2006).
phone did not get used until Jan (2007)
Phone has never been dropped. never been near water to get any kind of water damage and has worked perfectly.
until now that is..
the Number 3 does not work. I spent a fortune trying to get it repaired (the shop thought there was a fault with the keypad but that was not the fault)
i got told is was the motherboard or someting like that not sure.
has any one had a problem like this?
and will the Sony Ericison Warranty cover this?

i got the buttons replaced and its had no effect in any way.

Then you should be able to get it repaired on warranty. I think the warranties run for longer than a year. Can someone else confirm this?

The warranty here is for 1 year.
@kerry: if the keyboard was replaced then the problem is with the board. The phone does not have a year with you so you could have got it replaced with a new one. Why didn't you do this first?

i deffo know its not water damage. just dont want them charging me a hell of alot to return the phone to me.
but if someone has sent it back and not been charged with a similar problem please let me know.
might just send it anyway.

i've never sent my phone to a repair center so i cant tell you anything...

There is a small white square at the top of the battery which turns red or pink when it has been in contact with water - thats how they tell.
It doesn't sound like water damage to me but if it is still in warranty then I advise taking advantage of it.

Water damage sensor is also in the phone itself, if you remove battery and sim and look into phone from direction of the camera button, there is a small recessed (5mmx5mm) square which will be white if no water damage. You could take a foto to prove no water damage before you send for repair... indicator on battery is only proof battery didnt get wet. Send it back tho as in europe you have a 2 year warranty.
