Hi, i am new on here and have seen a few post where you can upgrade the camera/video software on a few phones like w610i and k800 etc.
is there anything i can do for my w580i?

Of course you can. The only problem is that you need the original camdriver, then mod it and then you'd upload it to your phone. Another problem is that no one has done this for this phone yet.

ah ok, seems a bit complicated for me.
guess i will need to wait for some one to do it then. I wondered if it would be the same as say the k550i mod that i saw in a post and that it was possible to improve the video recording rate upto 20+fps.
standard video on this really sucks, shame the camera dosent have auto focus also.
is there anything else mod wise i can do with it?

well, havent heard/seen anything yet. i mean, everybody's been modding things for k550/w610, k790/k800/k810 and k750/w800/w810.
