> Sony with 2.5mm headphone jack?
Bookmark topic
If I ever had a disappointment with a Sony phone is that there is no way to get other headphones to work on their cell phones, with the technology moving up every day and sound quality becoming just as important as rest of the features ( to most users ) I would LOVE to see Sony have jack for headphones that are NOT Sony, I love sound quality and would love to use my Shure headphones to listen to music on my cell, I do own an I-pod and as much of a pain in the butt to hall 2 things around for is, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to used HIGH quality headphones ( ear buds ) on Sony phones.
I've owned Sony phones ever since my old school Nokia died in 2000, but unless Sony steps up in HIGH END I'm going to be forced to goto Nokia
Just wondering if anyone feels my thoughts on this?
feel free to bash me

Well the standard size for a headphone jack is 3.5mm not 2.5. You can use an adaptor with your phone to use your own headphones.
With Hpm-70 you can plug in your own headphones.
A bit of a pain but not a major problem.

Yup, the standard earphone jack is 3.5mm. Though it's true we can use adaptors like the HPM-70, I'd much rather they come with the 3.5mm jack, it's more reliable and hassle-free.

The only Sony Ericssons I recall with non proprietry headset sockets on the phone was the P800 and P900 but even they were 2.5mm, not the more standard 3.5mm.
at least recent walkman phones come with a cable with a proprietry connector at one end and a standard 3.5mm at the other end and you can buy these separately to use with other non walkman fastport phones

We have a Nokia 6300 and that is a 2.5mm jack. Luckily I had a 2.5 > 3.5mm converter at home already to use my own headphones, as the supplied ones are shite!
