Scalextric Celebrates 50 Years Of Slot Car Racing Action
who of us hasn't had a set or two of these and dreamed we were F1 champs?
Scalextric, the world famous slot car racing game, is set to mark a momentous landmark in its history by celebrating its 50th birthday in 2007.
Since its emergence at the annual Harrogate Toy Fair in 1957, Scalextric has become synonymous with slot car racing the world over and is well established as a famous British institution amongst children and adults alike. Throughout its 50 year history, Scalextric models have evolved to become ever more technical and life-like, a trend set to continue into the future.

ahh the days when they released the micro sceletrics (they went fast) and a bit of the track sent the car up and round a corner at a 90 degree angle from the floor. if you went full speed the car would fly into the air... trust me to get it straight on the head

Halcyon days.............it was good having a younger brother, you could sit him by the tight corners and get him to put the cars back on the track
