Hi all,
now a lot of people still ask; "why dont SE just put cyber shot and walkman in one phone, it will be much better for the sales." Now to squash this. Keeping these brands away from each other in one phone and putting them in one, essentialy is a lot better for your company. Why? Because in that way all your products sell.
If SE put the cyber shot brand and the walkman brand in there high ends and kept them seperate in there other phones, they wont cell. People will go with the one with everything. However
have cleverly resolved this problem with there huge advantage no other company, including nokia have. Big brands, cyber shot and walkman.
Think about it, if you understand nothing about phones but you like cameras and you see a cyber shot phone you will buy it straight away, happily thinking you bought a phone and a sony cyber shot, when in reality its just a name, as with the walkman. However if you put this in both phones, people will go straight for it and abandon
other phones. Keeping the names seperate keeps the income flowing nicely for
, knowing that all there products are selling well.
Although the k850 has an unbranded walkman 3. SE have very cleverly kept it silent and seperated it completly from the walkmans. It looks a lot like a real cam and is branded heavily as one, although the music player is almost identical the the w910/60. If SE bragged about the k850 having both, its price tag would go up and more people would buy it and leave the w910 and w960. However keeping them seperate means that they will all sell to diffrent customours who think there all getting somthing diffrent and better in its on way, when in reality the k850 silently has both.

I would do the exact same thing. Its a very clever tactic to get your money. Keeping them away from each other, attracts other people, other customours more "varity" of phones and more money. If se advertise there high ends to have walkman and cyber shot it will be like getting the same phone, ofcourse there will be improvements, but people will buy the diffrent brands as they think there is more varity for there needs. And the bottem line is, this tactic makes
sell a lot of phones.
SE will never join the 2, but if they keep them seperate people get intrested and will buy them

Not exactly, K850 has walkman alike player with Megabass, but doesn't have autoplaylist features (SensME) and can't manage songs with shaking feature. At the end Walkman has more music capabilities, and Cybershot has more camera functions ....

So, I guess this means that I totally agree with you.
Oh, and on SE's website, MegaBass isn't listed as one of K850's features. I know that on certain reviews they said that it has, but the truth i that it doesn't.

you've certainly changed your opinions...and k850i may not have megabass as the k750 had megabass in pre-production FW's but not in the sales ones...
