I was surprised to find this section on page 57:
More features
Location services
You can get help to find your way, view
information about your current location
and save your favourite locations.
Using location services
Your phone is equipped with a GPS
receiver that uses satellite signals to
calculate your location. Make sure
you have a clear view of the sky when
using features that require the GPS
receiver to find your location. If your
location is not found after a few
minutes, move to another location.
To facilitate the search keep the phone
open, stand still and do not cover the
GPS receiver.
The GPS receiver is
placed on the left side of the keypad.

Later, there is a section about A-GPS (Assisted GPS), but is logically marked as network dependant.
Also, on the next page, it talks about a
Google Maps service embedded into the phone which allows finding services and
routes between two points!
What do you think about it? Could
just be waiting until the next announcement to surprise us? It is just an errata? May the K850i (which shares the same hardware platform) also include this?

Yeah, I remember that quote on the K850 thread... May be the Nokia N95 put too much pressure on this feature. That could justify the late launch time of the phone.
By the way, I've been working on projects that involved GPS modules and they are not so power hungry if you don't need a continuous tracking of your position. May be that is the case.
I've been browsing through the FCC information and spotted a metal case in the internal photos which looks like a GPS module... I can give the reference if anyone is interested in.
It would be nice if that embedded GPS receiver is a common feature on the new JP-8 platform! It would mean that the K850i got it too. That remembers me that JP-8 supports the JAVA Location API in the specs of both Z750i and K850i. When I read that months ago I thought it was non-sense to have the API without an integrated GPS receiver. I supposed then that it was related to the external GPS accessory.
Well, we have no other option but wait until the handset is released...

This is indeed a good and much sought development, but I've always found that SE makes peculiar choices in implementing specifications on certain phones. Why now, and on a non-smartphone clamshell to begin with? Feature-packed indeed, with the best connectivity options which you would think should be a priority on their business-oriented smartphones. It's fine that they want to implement a feature-packed java-based phone, but leaving their smartphones under-specced in my opinion is nothing short of tragic
