bought a o2 k800i off some one and the imei number on the phone matches the imei number on the box the phone came with ,,,it was working with an o2 sim when the guy let me see the phone but when i got it home and put my own sim in it ,it didnt work but only works with t-mobile ...............please help the local shop says it now stuck on o2 for good...... have i been conned

You say it's an O2 phone but is working on T-Mobile? Here are a couple of possibilities:

Only O2 contract phones are unlocked by default, O2 pay as you go handsets are locked to the O2 network.

Is it a phone that was sold as unlocked? Could be someone has 'patch' unlocked the phone - which means as soon as you update the firmware or debrand the phone it will revert to it's previous simlock status.

the phone had all the o2 settings on it when i got the only other thing the front of the phone casing had a t mobile logo on it ... thank for the fast reply

Sounds a bit like someone's patch unlocked the phone and used it on O2, but it's been updated or debranded since resetting the simlock, if this is so it will need unlocking again unfortunately
