Right bought a new contract from e2save the other day (about 3 weeks ago)

my virgin number is now going to run out soon so I need to port it over. I contacted o2 store and they could not do it for me said I had to go to e2save, who told me they can only do it within 7days?

I am trying to change my virgin pay monthly numbe to o2 pay monthly, who do I ring to do this, im a little bit frustrated right now as I need the virgin mobile number.

Call virgin and ask them for your PAC code. When you get it, call O2 and tell them the code. Job's a good 'un

At least, that's how you normally do it...

Ah I see!

Have you tried this (from the O2 FAQ's)?

Once you complete your order, follow the steps below to keep your existing phone number:

1. Call your current service provider and request a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC number)
2. Go to http://www.o2.co.uk
3. Click Help on Top Nav bar.
4. Click GO button at the bottom of page - no need to enter your phone number.
5. Click Joining O2 with current mobile number link.
6. Click Bring my number to O2 link.
7. Click the link that best describes what you require e.g Bringing my number to O2 - I've got my PAC, can you arrange my number transfer?.
8. Click Contact Us button - this will bring up a dedicated web form for mobile number transfers. Include your PAC code and order number in the email.
9. O2 will contact you to let you know when the transfer can take place.

Not sure if your e2save order number will work with this but it might.

Hmmm, not sure then. It's normally just the 'new customers' department that deals with that kind of thing so I don't know why they reckon they can't help you

How long does it normally take to port a number? Never done it myself, I like to change my mobile number occasionally to prevent unwanted, skinflint pain in the arse customers ringing me up at all hours of the morning.

With e2save its different.

As they are part of CPW they use CPW O2.

I think you only have a few days to port your number over.

It gives you an option of doing it when you are ordering the phone.

Once it passes that time, don't think you can transfer the number over.

They use your number to do the cash back etc, so they don't really concentrate on number ports that much.
