And they said they will activate my GPRS and MMS and that I would get text messages and then I should delete these messages, turn off the phone and wait 10 secs then turn it back on and then try to send myself an MMS and connect to the internet.

I called them about 4 hours ago and I still haven't got one text. How long do they usually take to arrive?

I have received these settings loads of times and they've never worked but I actually needed orange to activate GPRS and MMS on my account so I reset to factory defaults and I have called orange and the woman said what I've said in my first post. Should I have the text by now?

OK, I just rang again and she said I should wait within 24 hours of when I first called and then she will ring me up at 4PM tomorrow to check if the texts have come thru and if they haven't she will go through the settings manually with me. It better work! I'm sick of all this, IMHO a phone's features should just work! I know people who don't have a clue what GPRS is and their internet still works fine. Orange have done enough damage to the phone by ruining the w880i's main menu's which are individual to each theme and replaced it with their pathetic menu! Oh and they also took off TrackID! Seriously how hard can it be?!

If you unbranded the w880i then you would have a normaly w880. So your track id returns.

The only thing you still wont be able to do is insert another netwokr sim card into it. The phone becomes debranded but still stays locked.

Many people on here moan about the orange branding etc, I did.
But people still get contracts out or get phones of them.

You can only stop the branding if you stamp hard with your feet and stopped getting the phones. Orange then will have to listen. Its fact of life.

Me, I changed and best move i ever did, my bills are loads cheaper now and no orange branding.
