Its almost the same thing even here @miss uk. We have MTN but most of use use phones from other providers. But I take this as a failure to meet the consumers requirements and demmands.

@Miss UK

I believe 02 secured the iPhone exclusive for the UK market only other carriers have it in different European countries so no 02 don't have an exclusive deal for the whole of Europe they have it just in the UK so far. But that is not to say they may not get in some other countries as well but they haven't as yet.

One more other thing we should note is that the operators ussually sell their devices at a higher price. So for them not to have most of them might be a blessing in disguise.

O2 UK is actually one of the later additions to the O2 family from what I gather. O2 Germany was there first I think and a couple of others. There all now owned by Telefonica, a Spanish network.

But, the fact they share the same name and same parent company means nothing in reality.

O2 UK share almost nothing with the other O2's, and have nothing in common, so no their phones and exclusives will all be different.

Oh right I really did think they were the same even when I was in Berlin this time last year I was connected to o2-de even recieved wap settings which was abit annoying lol...

Roaming charge for the 3 days I was there was only £2.08p which I thought was pretty good too, made me reason to believe 02-UK and o2-de were just the same basically

I visited a o2-de shop in Berlin they had phones on display which you could explore before you bought, 02-UK don't do this
