> Does the P1i support H.264 video?
Bookmark topic
I remember reading that it does... but I've tried playing the latest episode of the smartphones show (http://www.smartphones-show.com/) where they switched to H264 instead of H263 and it causes my video player to hang and eventually crash. It plays the older episodes fine...

mp4 with h264 encoding does not work natively.
you need an alternative videoplayer to do that.

The P1i specifications claim to support H264 but, as you have found, it doesn't. I wrote to Steve Litchfield to point out that no UIQ devices properly support H264, and could he please switch the format back to H263. He said that if 10 people asked, he would do it. I was number 2. I suggest that any SE owners in this forum who watch the Smartphones Show contact Steve at slitchfield [at] gmail.com.
Best regards,
Malcolm
