> Major problem with opera 8.6 in p990
Bookmark topic
Hello guys. Some weeks ago,a bug appeared in the preinstalled opera browser om my p990.It does not allow me to log in into any site anymore.Every time I press a login button on any page(it also does this with few other buttons) it says Network problem,Connection closed by remote server. The thing is that I have no network problem.Opera mini logs in just fine, but the big 8.6 does not! Do you have any idea why this thing appeared? I have also done a master reset and it's still there.Any ideas besides reflashing?

I made one small mistake:it does not say 'Connection closed by remote server',in only says 'Network problem'.Again, there is no network problem,my connection works just fine

i have encountered such problem before, but not sure if it's similar ones, i set my PROXY, TCP/IP as automatically assigned and voila, it worked
may be someone else could find a way out?

I know, I had that before usually when I ran out of memory. Or a restart fixed it. Other than that...I really don't know.

well.. if you use some sort of gprs- gateway without a more or less permanent ip- address, you're going to have that kind of problem. Opera mini connects through a gateway between the, for instance, wap- gateway and the site - so you won't be invalidated as long as the opera- gateway will recognise you... You'd have the same problem if you connected to the internet with the computer, just using the phone as a modem, because of the gprs- gateway and the ip- address would change.
...Maybe the provider you're using has some sort of more permanent settings available? Mine has, or at least had - they just didn't advertise it, or made it default, for some reason.

I had that problem before because the default connection is to bluetooth pan. Try looking at the settings and set your connection to your network be it GPRS, 3G or wifi

I've never had this problem when using the phone as a modem and well...the operator settings haven't changed. They have been the same for years. The settings on their site are the same as they have always been, the settings I receive via sms are also the same. Thanks for your time, anyway
