yep comes to 610 with express delivery

That's 305 pounds.

Cheaper than what I sell them for (although I unlock them too)

Hi all

Just a word of warning it has been reported that iPhones coming from the Apple store are already starting to ship with 1.11 firmware which as you know currently can't be unlocked or customised. So my advice would be to try and buy an already unlocked 1.02 firmware device just to be safe.

@amensia

Indirectly yes but just in general if people really want an iPhone and want to be sure they can unlock and customise it they need to be sure they are getting 1.02 firmware.

The sealed boxes don't show what firmware is installed and as i said there are reports that new iPhones being bought from Apple already have 1.11 firmware. Although there are reports that the Dev's teams may be making some progress that really hasn't been confirmed as far as i know. But i would advise even people like yourself to be careful on ordering anymore as if they turn up with 1.11 firmware you could be stuck with a virtually useless iPhone.

Unless and until new workarounds are found some claim that you can downgrade whilst doing a restore if you have the 1.02 firmware files saved others are claiming no success. What i would like to know but have seen no information recently is if the Turbo Sim solution still works or not although this is not a free solution it may still be a work round that still works as my understanding of it is it fools the iPhone into believing the correct Sim is in place for activation.

The only real problem i can see is if Apple start to add real functionality in the new updates those with 1.02 unlocked devices will not be able to take advantage of these improvements 1.11 added very little but who knows what the next and future updates my add.

But as always it really depends what each user wants or needs to be able to do for some just an unlocked iPhone may be all they want or need others may feel with out the ability to customise it they are not interested. Personally as i am home most of the time the lack of 3G/HSDPA is not a big deal as currently i have cancelled my Data tariff and only use WiFi although how practical that would be for others i don't know. But for now i am sticking to my E61 and iPod classic which works best for me. I am just waiting to see what happens once it is launched in the UK and if the locking is legal or not before deciding if i really fancy one or not. But so far i have manged to stick to my no new device policy with ease, but the E90 is about to become available again so will have to see just how strong i can remain.
