ok there is this friend of mine who wants to buy one of these...
he likes both of em but wanted some more input....so few q's!
1.which one has a better batt. life?
2.does the 16m display make a huge diff.?
3.what about the speakers,which one is louder
4.does the NOKIA have better video rec. and is it equipped with AF?
4.what mem.card is bundled in each?

Not just the fact that the screen is 16mil, but it is a QVGA screen as well. So it;s a finer display as well. The screen is much better on the 6300.

Don't know. You'll have to talk to someone with both phones.

4.does the NOKIA have better video rec. and is it equipped with AF?
No. It has QCIF video recording like the K550. No AF or flash either.

Also, you have to take pictures with the phone held vertically.

The K550 has AF, flash, lens cover, and you are meant to hold the phone horizontally when taking photos.

4.what mem.card is bundled in each?
I don't think either come with any memory cards.

Basically, the 6300 is slimmer (although taller), better build quality (feels nicer in the hand), and has a better screen.

The K550 has a better camera, and it has a more powerful interface. Just like all SE phones, it has the activity menu which allows you to multi task things like three Java games, which Nokia phones cannot do.

All I wanna say is 6300 looks damn good and it's the best looking Nokia to me. K550 on the other hand is not my cup of tea, but the white one made me look twice. Volume-wise, I'm putting my money on the 6300 because SE sucks where volume matters. I'm quite sure the battery's better on the K550, which is the advantage you have if you don't have to light up a 16m QVGA screen. Function-wise, if you need a camera, go for the K550 but if you want something that feels and looks good while holding (since it doesn't really have a function that stands out) 6300 is for you.

2. Not that much imho, the answer in no. 1 is not because of the 16M difference but the type of battery it uses Li-polymer(SE) vs Li-ion(nokia)
3.K550 has an average speakers, i don't about nokia
4.NO, both are only capable oF QCIF video, and camera of K550 beats 6300 hands down in all aspects

5. K550 has MS-Micro 6300 uses Micro-SD.

55. K550 has MS-Micro with 64MB Card included , 6300 uses Micro-SD , don't know what size card is included.

AFAIK 6300 has been more popular then K550 , IMO go for 6300.

bl6c nokia battery ( 1050 mah ) fits the 6300 too, so u can get longer standy by time as with k550 if it is
