i came across this situation for 3 times already. everytime i open my phone it's just a white screen and nothing else. the phone cannot be turned off anymore. i have to go to a service center for repair or upgrading and it is quite costly. so anyone who can help me by giving a step by step tutorial on how to fix this problem? your response will be greatly appreciated. thanks...btw the SE service center upgraded by software to R1KG001 as of 09/30/07...your tips will surely be a big help in case the phone crashes once again.

I came across this problem on saturday. It was from KD player. I started up the phone, and a long white screen, then the sony ericsson logo. And it froze. Remove battery, put back in, same problem. I updated FW, still no change. then i removed everything (m2,sim,battery), left it 1 min to cool, and then power it on. I had to push the power button a few times (like tapping it 4-5 times) and it was ok. Deleted KD player and all is fine now. Ofcourse yours is white screen, but maybe this helps.
