Hi
What is the best way to port my old P910's data to a new P1?
I think Outlook can handle the Contacts and Calendar, what about the rest?
I mean SMS, MMS?
Please share the any tricks you can think off.
Thank you

I've never had to port or had the need to port my sms' from my old phone, and have never owned a P-series before my P990. But it seems like your last statement is probably true

I have messages and MMS since 2004.
Almost half my life is there!
At least anyone knows a way to convert them to TXT?

It would be very tedious but isn't it possible to transfer SMS to the SIM? In that case you could transfer some at a time. I am not completely sure about this but I know there is some way to put your SMS on the SIM in P1i (other people have complained about the messages being stored there by mistake).
Edit:
According to this:
http://www.filesaveas.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1119619201
you can transfer 10 SMS at a time to your SIM (I think this depends on carrier because I think I have seen some SIMs where you can store 120 SMS), not sure about MMS though. Also in that post there are some links to programs so you can transfer to outlook.
The suggestion to move c:systemmail will probably not work on P1i since you can't access the C:sys on UIQ3. However if they ever let you store SMS and MMS on your memory stick in later versions of the firmware, then you should be able to move them there with a memory card writer.
A link to the program for syncing with Outlook:

Says it supports UIQ (beta) but not really if it supports UIQ3. Anyway they have 15 days free trial so you can always give it a go.

Looks like a plan to me. It's going to be slow, but completely doable if you want to keep them bad enough. You have to transfer the MMS from P910 to SIM, transfer SIM to P1 and transfer them from the SIM to P1, phewhh. It's surprising how there isn't an app developed for precisely this function

LAU, I hope you find a way too... I have a P910 and intend to migrate to the new UIQ3 phones as well.. The W960 whitepaper says it can't even save an SMS to the SIM... I don't know if it can transfer a saved SMS out of the SIM to the phone.
I wonder why

doesn't put better SMS export/import management into their phones... even if it's via PC sync.
There should be a separate app... export SMS from older

phone... then import SMS from file.
Transferring via SIM was doable from my P800 to my P910... but I don't know if the P1i and W960 have the "Save to SIM" and "Move from SIM" function anymore...

ANy P1i owners out there who can verify the "Save to SIM" and "Move from SIM" function in the SMS menu?

It seems like I can move it to and from SIM on my P1i.
