Also when connected through the wireless, can files be accessed from the main computer to the phone?

1)There is no flash player/support for UIQ3 currently, and given that Youtube requires a flash player, the answer is no, you can't watch Youtube on P1 until Adobe develops it for the paltform. When this is going to happen? Seems like never to me since SE is too lazy/uninterested to support its own platform, but we never know.
2)Wireless data transfer from your computer to P1 through WLAN is possible from what I have read and gather, but I've never tried it myself as I've always used the usb cable provided as it is convenient and fast aside from the use of bluetooth

Correction, Youtube video's can be viewed on the P1i - on any fone for that matter.

Direct your mobile browser to: http://www.m.youtube.com

Still in it's early days but more and more content is added everyday.

Well, it's definitely available on the iPhone:

So much for SE's cutting edge technology stint, a manufacturer's maiden attempt has more trick up their sleeves than they do these days.

the iphone doesnt support flash either. It supports the h.264 codec which the p1i is supposed to support too. Youtube are reincoding their library to h.264 now which gives it better interplatform support instead of having to rely on adobes crappy development on flash.

And from what I have heard it hardly even supports phone calls!
But it does have cool album art (which is just as important for a mobile phone).

It might or might not. They could have it as a layer that runs on top of Opera which would give it platform independence, but it would probably cut out all p990 users or any phone with too little RAM. Other than that, its upto adobe to see whether UIQ3 is worth developing for or not.

Yes, it is the flash video format, but the files on youtube are actually held on a server and are streamed through a flash player.
So if you have core player and you want to see a flash video then do this:
1)Go to the youtube page you want.
2)Copy its URL and go to http://keepvid.com/
3) Enter the URL into the text box there and then download the video to your phone. Then you can watch it once its done downloading
