> Wlan problem after update
Bookmark topic
Hi everyone,
I've had my P1i for over a month now, great phone.
No problems at all. Last night I updated the firmware to R6E30 and now my Wlan has problems.
It finds my router but says cannot locate remote server when I try to open a web page. This was perfect before the update.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

I updated from d23 to e30 without any problems whatsoever with the wlan. In fact I find it much more stable now.
Make sure that you have your wlan account listed in the internet groups, it doesn't always get automatically added.
Connection Manager -> groups -> internet -> add group.
If you get problems you should also try disabling the power save for the connection - not all routers support this feature and it causes lots of people wifi connection problems.

Thanks for the reply.
I've already done these so I can't think what else to do.
I should have left the old firmware on i think!!
My router is a US Robotics, I had no problems before.

Do you have power saving set to off on the account/connection? Setting power save on gave me the same problem.

I am also having problems after the update! I got internet through WLAN working and then suddenly after going to bed, putting the phone on charge and waking up, the P1i will no longer connect to the net! It connects to the router without a problem, just can't get on to the internet! No settings changed from when it worked!

@Tang64
I would start checking the Router setup myself. Important things to look for are the wifi mode - make sure B is enabled (not just G) also you want to look at the channel you are using. There are 101 different things that cause problems for a WIFI connection, for example do you have any other devices (PC, Games Console etc) which are also using the wifi? You could have a router that does not like running in the two modes at the same time, with something else connecting at G you may then loose the B connection for the P1.
The firmware update might just be coincidental, you should try connecting when you are close to the router and nothing else is using it - then see if you still have a problem.
