Hi,

I got SonyEricsson P990i phone and tested it with battery from my K800i phone, P990i:s vibra motor start running continuously, nothing else happens.

It seems to killed the battery, K800i doesn't start, red led blinks 6 times, also charging doesn't work.

P990i:s vibra still runs with it, but battery doesn't work in K800i.

Is there anything else to do, but go in the shop and buy new one?

Edit:
Tried that WotanClient software, but it says only:
phone found
Phone connection failed
Remove batteryfor a while and try again
== FAILED ==
Duration: 00:09

Also tried that shorting phones battery-terminal, does nothing, still dead. So, that doesn't seem eeprom or software fault?

Shorted these pins, but it has no effect, phone still dead. I got new battery for 45eur but nothing happens, phone is dead. So, maybe my old battery isn't broken at all?

Phone is now in service, maybe tomorrow I have working phone again

And that dead, water-damaged P990i:s pcb is now swimming in crc, next I put it in ultrasound cleaner. Hoping that I can get it working again.

strange how the K800 battery went into a P990.The K800 uses a different size battery and also has a different power rating.

Maybe you killed the EROM just... That may be software problem as well in my opinion. As the older K800 EROMs have problem with the SIM card changing, that may be the problem with the battery too... you can try flashing the EROM instead of changing the battery. But this is my opinion only.

Ouch! I just put it in and it went there with no problem, same width & lenght but maybe height is different? Also terminals is in same place, so I thought it must be the same

Now I hope that I hadn't kill that P990i with wrong battery!

But.. Maybe I hadn't make a mistake at all? K800i uses BST-33 battery...

From "www.expansys.com" forum:
Yes the p990i was SUPPOSED to come with the bst 34 battery but in the end bar a few people, they sent out the bst33 battery instead.
I get about 2-3 days standby without hardly any use.
