Can anyone tell what this controls. How is it used? Do i need additional software or something? Its really confusing. Thanx in advance.

Its bluetooth remote, it allow you to control your pc by your mobile.
but you need usb bluetooth connected to your pc

basically, it allows you to control the desktop, the media player or a presentation software like powerpoint.
as darknoob said, you need to link to the PC by bluetooth
when you choose to control the desktop for example, the joystick moves the mouse cursor around, and each number on the keypad can perform a different action.
it's quite amazing the first time, but honestly, the use is quite limited, except maybe for presentations when you don't have a remote at hand.
