I have recently got a P1i to replace my aging (but still excellent) T610. I use Gentoo Linux and have the BlueZ stack installed. This allows you to configure your ppp dialler software to use /dev/rfcomm0 as the serial port. On my old T610 this "just worked" but with the P1i, the dialler program (kppp) says "modem found" but when it sends an AT command to initialise the modem, rubbish is returned instead of "OK". You can confirm this by using a terminal program such as minicom. I also tried using the USB cable which gives you a serial port /dev/ttyACM0 and the same thing happened. Anybody else seen this or got an idea what's going on?

TIA

Not tried to use the P1 as a modem, but certainly the USB mass storage does not show up on SuSE as pure vanilla unlike the K series phones. Haven't had time to trouble shoot it yet though.
