A short while ago a photo was uploaded to Esato of a naked child aged appox 2 years, although the photo was a typical family photo surely that's the way it should stay.

I PM'd Laffen who removed the photo immediately, as anyone can take any of the immages here and use them for any means they want to.

Do you guy's and girls think there should be an age limit on photo subjects in this forum, or is this just too much molly-coddleing and OTT political correctness?

firstly, how do we know the age of the subject?

secondly, I'm sure there would be many other criteria we could use to restrict image upload but it would be very hard to enforce.

I think the current method of quick removal of inapropriate images is satisfactory

perhaps the upload page could have some mention of the likely things that should not be uploaded and which will be removed...

It's a full time job for you modderators here, I was surprised how quickly this photo was acted on and removed. (Pat's moderators on the back !)

I'd look at it like, if that immage was of me, would I want the whole world to be-able see it, even 10 years on? If the answer is no, then it shouldn't be here.

agreed, but how do you prevent someone uploading it without some kind of magical image analysis software?

unfortunately if the uploader doesn't have the ability to realise what is appropriate (and what is appropriate may differ from person to person) then the best we can do is act quickly to remove those that should not have been uploaded

@comfort mdu

Is this your answer to masseurs replies? I don't see the connection here. What would it help to provide a database for uploaded photos? It would not prevent uploading of inapropriate photos. Again: how do you prevent someone uploading it without some kind of magical image analysis software?
