Due to problems with the radio on my K810i (asked about in another thread), I'd like to try upgrading the firmware using Wotan. I'm on T-Mobile UK on a contract and my current firmware is R1KG001, which SEUS says is the latest and is what T-Mobile UK's repair centre seem to think is the latest. However, Wotan have a more recent R6BC002 for T-Mobile UK.

So I have 5 questions...

1) Why don't SEUS have R6BC002, considering it is available for T-Mobile UK, and does that mean there is some issue I'm not aware of in upgrading it to that from Wotan?

2) If I upgrade to the T-Mobile version, will I invalidate my warranty?

3) If I upgrade to the generic version, will I invalidate my warranty, and is it possible T-Mobile could know I've done it?

4) Is the generic version worth getting over the T-Mobile version? I know that in principle generic is better, but how about in this particular case, is it really worth it? Whether I do or not depends on answers to this, and questions 2 and 3!

5) Do any games come with the generic version, and which ones? I'd love to still have ExtremeAirSnowboarding3D. I'd also love it if the snooker game I just bought wasn't deleted but I don't suppose I can do much about that.

Thanks for any help you can give me,
Geoff.

No need to answer that everyone, I've done the upgrade so will live with any consequences. The phone is so much better now with unbranded firmware, but it hasn't fixed the radio as I'd hoped.

Well if you use SEUS - Sony Ericsson Update Service to update your phone it will not void your warranty as it is not third party software like far manager or XS++. But using SEUS you cannot change the firmware to debranded or other version... Using third party software like far manager or XS++ will void the warranty, but then you can flash your phone with any firmware of your choice.
