I get an XML parse error from a lot of stites when I use the built in Opera browser on the P1i. is this a general problem, or a problem specific to my phone? Does anyone know how to get around it?

For an example of the problem try wapipedia at www.wapipedia.com/wikipedia/mobiledefault.aspx and try searching for something.

Any help would be appreciated

..Maybe there'll be some alternative parsing in ver. 9?

Over what sort of connection? I have heard of this error when your GPRS is incorrectly configured. Check your internet (GPRS) settings and make sure they are correct. I believe the normal cause of this has to do with the Proxy, try it with the proxy enabled and disabled.

UPDATE

I have sucessfully opened the wapipedia site using the built in opera browser. I connected over a WIFI connection.

..yeah, like the post on the opera- forum says. It's when you connect through a wap- gateway (and not a gprs data- connection), since the wap- gateway does something with the code before it reaches the phone. I.e, you'd have the same problem if you just used the phone as a modem to your pc, while using any regular browser.

Anyway, an alternative to hunting for gprs data settings is to use opera mini, since it has different drawing methods (..or something like that).
