> P1i WLAN troubles on school network
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys,
This would be by far the most frustrating issue regarding my P1i
What student usually do is that they could connect their the laptop with the connection (which is not protected by WEP) and simply open their browsers. HOWEVER: student will be redirected automatically to school page to enter their ID and password before they can access internet.
My school use 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11b wireless Ethernet compatible technology
---The problem is that: I could scan the WLAN network very well and also connect to them. But the wireless network would not redirect me to their page to enter my ID and password when I use Opera (as usually if I'm usually using laptop).
I'm wondering if this problem could be resolved?...
Further information regarding my school wireless network (in case my post does not contain enough)

Its York University - we have a network called "AirYork"

Do you not get the login page when you first start browsing? IE when you attempt to open an actual web page (like
www.google.com)?
I have used a BTOpenzone wifi which was an open network - no encryption - but when you attempted to open a website would direct you to a login page first. However, I actually had to attempt to browse to a internet page as the homepage in opera is stored internally on the P1. Maybe this is why you are not getting the login page?
[EDIT] I looked the website you mention it states "If the browser redirect does not occur, type in
http://www.yorku.ca or
http://airyork.yorku.ca" I would guess that you should add this as a bookmark or a shortcut on the standby screen which you could then open directly to login and then continue browsing normally.

Please do. Or at least a P1i WLan FAQ.
