I got a notification in my phone that there's a new firmware update available, normally I ignored them but this morning I made a bad decision accepting it. My phone just wouldn't turn on during the phone restart after the firmware update was downloaded. Then I used the update service software in my PC to try to fix it; the process was always halted at 95%, it said something like "update error, please try again".

Nevertheless, my phone managed to start up eventhough the update process never finished. The problem is, now my LCD light stays dark after it goes to auto sleep mode or after I lock the keys. I can light it up again by going to the setting>display>brightness and adjust the brightness there; and for now I can manage this problem by putting a shortcut to the brightness option so what I need to do to turn on the light is to move the joystick twice to the right, but it's very annoying to do that everytime I need to use my phone.

I've tried master reset, but the problem still persists; and everytime I try to update my firmware again, it still always stuck at 95%. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Your phone is half-updated due to failed flashing process. You need to fully flash the firmware. I recommend www.wotanserver.com for a quick and easy fix.

Thanks for the link, tranced. Where can I get the firmware for my phone though? the sony ericsson update service only allows me to flash the phone directly after it downloads the firmware...

@ aremaboy, I think that'll be my last resort because I dont feel like paying for something that sony ericsson screwed up

Btw, if i do this, it won't void the phone's warranty right?
