Mobile Today, SE's volumne has gone up by 31% due to increased low- and mid- range handset sales, so the fall in profits is due to more lower-value phones being sold - not necessarily a bad thing!

no, some se-pr-guy blamed the fickle se-fans for moving towards the low-end rubbish se now sell like the p990 (well, oops...)

The fall in profits is due to more lower-value phones being sold - not necessarily a bad thing
Seems to me that doing more units of work and making less money isn't exactly progressive.

the fall in profit is more likely due to an investment in assembly line, plant and development that allowed the masses of new models to be produced. It will pay itself off ten times over in the next 1-2 years.

SE has enjoyed amazing profitability and growth for 2 full years. To carry on in that fashion kwould have been oscene.
Almost doubled it's market share in 1 year?
There are others who have done a lot worse.
10% drop is FA reallyl
