> W850i won't read my 2GB disk any more?
Bookmark topic
Hey,
I noticed a problem earlier today. Playing music on the walkman feature, all of sudden it stopped and said playback failed. That used to happen on my W550i every now and then, so I just clicked play again. No joy. Different song, no joy. It turns out the disk isn't getting read, because when I go into "my stuff" it says "no files" under the memory disk tab.
Weird thing is, nothing's changed, it just literally suddenly happened. I havn't changed the software, dropped it, fiddled with the disk.. nothing.
Even weirder, if I take out the disk and re-insert it, it gets read, but only for around 30 seconds. Then all the files on it are suddenly gone. It just says no files. It knows the disk is in there, because when I take it out it goes "insert disk" but it says "no files".. always after around 30 seconds of putting it in.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jace

hi
if you have a card reader, put it there and scan the memory stick with an Antivirus. though, if it gets read by the cardreader, try to backup and format(in case the antivirus does not work)

I don't have a card reader. My computer reads that it's there when I plug in the phone, but I'm having trouble getting files off it. Seems to be able to access it intermittently, otherwise halfway through copying it'll come up with some sort of error.
Reckon it's the 2GB disk that's broken? Should I format it and see what happens?
