Hi,
Is there a different/updated firmware and UIQ patch in newer P1i released?
I am planning to buy one, but the seller has a 1 year old production dated phone.
Want to know if there were subsequent releases of P1i from SE and had a upgraded firmware and OS, so I can look for it and not to have buy older version and upgrade it on my own.
Please let me know if you have any info.
Thanks

Hmmm, a 1 year old production date? Better make sure it's not a proto type since the P1i is only out for a few months now (about 3) because I thought you can't update proto types. There has been a small firmware update for the 'regular' P1i with some small fixes but there are bound to be more.

if UIQ developers/Hackers would listen i would opt for the following patches:
-autofocus in video mode for the P990
-software plugin to enable P1/M600/W950 to have w960 fullscreen visualizations
-The enhanced standby layout seen on P1/W960 for the older UIQ 3 models
-The PSP like media manager for P1/P990 and older phones
-More menu transition effects on P1's menu GUI (since it has way larger RAM to accomodate all the memory consumptions of an animated visuals

)
