Let's try to port the front camera driver so that we can use it as a camdriver for the back camera to be able to take pictures using the front camera.

Here's what I have done so far:
1) Simply rename camdriver1.dat to camdriver0.dat : When I opened the lens cover the camera started and exited immediately. However, I could get a picture from the service menu when I selected the "camera" test!
The bad news however is that this doesn't work for java applications (which is the number 1 reason I need it for anyway)
2) Copy power on/off sequence and supported resolution code from camdriver1.dat to camdriver0.dat : When I opened the lens cover it showed the Cybershot logo, but the phone seemed frozen for a minute. After that all I got was a black picture and nothing else. Same thing on the service menu.

That's all I have tried so far.

Anyone willing to help me out?

Thanks

Somebody on se-nse made a driver that can record videos but can't take pictures.
You can take a look on the link above if you're interested.

It's doesn't work because the camdriver1.dat doesn't contain any code for producing still pics/jpegs it only contains code for videos but it is the same micron cammodule as used in the w300/w200 etc.
