Hi Everyone. Had my P1i for a week now and loving it. Still getting used to the functions and typing etc. but overall it is a great phone.

Just a question. The browser that comes with the P1i is Opera 8.65 for Symbian. I must say that I do not find this a very user friendly browser. I cannot find a place to change my home page settings and generally it is difficult to navigate through the basics.

Anyone using an alternative or any other comments and tips.

Been using iSkoot- It is AWESOME highly recommended.

Hi Razec

I have tried to download Opera Mini which I had on my K800i and loved but it does not seem to work for the P1i. Have you got Opera Mini to work ?

I've just had my P1i for about 2 weeks now. All good, just point the web browser on P1i to operamini.com. Works fine on my P1i.

Opera mini is a fine peice of software, although the java VM requires 2meg of memory to run in, making it about ten times more expensive on the ram as the built in browser.

Myself I think the built in opera browser is fine, OK its not easy to change the homepage but you can replace the browser Icon on the standby screen with a web shortcut pointing at the homepage of your choice - this then amounts to the same thing.

Opera mini (beta 4 currently) is to me the better browser. I've never had a page not load in Opera but I've had plenty that have trouble in the built in browser.

Also, Opera mini's overview and zooming of the page is really good, even the N80 had that, but the built in browser doesn't do it - why not!!?

Incidentally, although slightly odd to get used to, the landscape mode of the built in browser is really good!

opera mini is ok on uiq3, for browsing, but if you get use to the built in opera 8.5 you'll relise its much more powerfull. intagration with rss feeds, email links from the window, tabbed browsing, search word on paige, search internet on any open page.etc. maybe they will include this after the beta, but in the meantime id give it a little more time.

I made a guide on how to change the homepage of the built in Opera browser:

"Even the N80 had that" - what are you talking about? The N80 has the best mobile browser available! It's the one used in the N95.
