hi,

i use my jabber account to comunicate with my friends almost every day and i was looking around for instant messanger with support for jabber/xmpp that runs on uiq3 (p1i to be exact)

what i found so far is im+ but it's not free; do you know of any other software i could use on p1i to connect with jabber server (free/non-free)?

thanks in advance for your replies

I haven't seen a free program around, but maybe you can try the online version of ebuddy.

Maybe you should take a look at this link, see if its useful

Fring (www.fring.com) has support for Google Talk, which is based on Jabber. You can talk with your Jabber friends there (I use Google talk as my only Jabber account), but you may not want to convert...

hi,

thanks for your replies, i thought about using a web based application for my purposes but i'm not quite sure if opera on p1i is capable of running those (ebuddy for example); also, if i had a dedicated piece of software i'd be able to limit the amount of data sent over the net and thus save money;

i know that google talk is based on jabber and i have a gmail account but i refrained from converting to this messanger since i've been using my jabber account on different server for quite some time now...

in the mean time i found agile messenger, but i'm not sure if it supports xmpp; in version 3 there's a support for google talk (but actual jabber/xmpp is not listed) but i couldn't find version for p1i - there are versions for previous uiq3 based SE smartphones though;

there's also something called agile mobile xmpp, but there's no download for regular users...

thanks again for you replies

Have you tried searching for a J2ME (java) app? Since Jabber is an open protocol, there ought to be one.

EDIT: http://www.getjar.com/products/11966/EQO perhaps?
