> K850i sending texts by itself?
Bookmark topic
I have had my K850i for a little over a day now and I have not sent out any text messages yet. However, I noticed the message counter showing:
"Sent text msgs: 2" (2 hours after I got the phone)
I was confused and posted in one of the K850i discussion threads but didn't get many responses. This morning (almost 36 hours after getting the phone), the message counter shows:
"Sent text msgs: 5"
And I must mention that I checked the Sent Messages folder and there are no messages in it. I have no clue what is going on.
I truly appreciate all the input/responses/comments from everyone!
Thanks, people!

hi
have you checked with your mobile network, if any texts have been sent from your mobile?

I can access my account online and check usage and it does not show any sent texts.

Have you installed any Applications ?
There is a Mobile Virus named Trojan.Redbrowser.A , any phone that has JAVA can get the virus.
That virus send messages by its self to any international number it wants , maybe you got that virus if you installed a malicious application ?

Nope, I haven't installed anything on it yet. Not even games/apps/themes, etc.

I guess it is possible that an SMS that can not get through to the receiver is resent periodically and registered as a sent message. The message sent does not necessarely be one you have sent, but part of e.g. internet configuration of something similar.

Well, whatever it is, it is just weird. Never had any of my other phones do this!

A far friend of my that do work for SE said to me one time I borrowed a prototype K800 that I should be aware of that it maybe did send some sms with info to SE. But that phone didnīt. I donīt know if heīs serious, but maybe you have a prototype? (IMEI starts with 00...)
Or have you bought your phone in a serious store?
