Hello guys.

I have been trying to convince myself about this for almost three months now. Each time when I think everything will be fine I find something to worry about.

I'm planning to move to UK. I convinced myself. But I still need some support for the choice I make. So guys could you give me some feedback?

Here is the situation:

Currently:
Pros:
* I have lots of (close) friends by my side all the time
* I have everything that I need (a car, a great place to live, etc.)
* At last we are having great time with my family (esp. my dad)

Cons:
* I have to serve my military service soon (very soon)
* I want to change my job (got bored)

If I move to UK, I'll lost all the pros. But life is all about choices, so I can live with it. Although it will be extremely difficult . And finding the job I want might take some time.

Nevertheless, my life standard will be better. I love UK so I'll enjoy living in UK. This will be a great milestone in my career. Also this will be a great adventure because nothing is certain.

So, do you think should I move to UK?

PS: I think this topic is silly. Probably I shouldn't asking this

* close friend will always be close friend... no matter where you live
* if you move to a new place you get a new car, which is just an object really... a good place to live (your choice following research before you move... etc...
* visit home every once in a while and it will be just as good, if not better

* you still have to serve military service (normally) as physical location normally does not overide national obligation. You have to give up your original nationality and take on a new one to bypass this
* new job sounds good!

On the other hand... as an Aussie... I have spent 1/3rd my life trying to get out of UK so I can't really comment on anyone actually wanting to come here!

I'm wanting to do the opposite..

I want out of the UK, but I know where I want to go but it takes time..

but yeah, I can't see why anyone would want to come here...

I'm gonna avoid the whole illegal migrant thing, but this country isn't what it once was...

You have to think long and hard about being separated from family and friends, the change in culture and how much you'll miss home... and if you can live with the british climate!

I'm guessing that military service is worrying you - could you 'cheat' and just work in the UK for a few years then return home?

imo u hould give yourself a chance and go to the uk. u see, if it wont fits your taste, then u can alwasy go back, but wihtout experiences, u ll never know, how it would have been, take the challenge and do it, its so simple.

according friends. my really close friends are far away from me, i meet them maybe once a a year, one of my closest i met last time 4 years ago, but now a days, we have mobiles, email, skype etc so u can always reach the one. what count is the feeling, that they excists and they are there if it is. i miss them all, but cant change the situation, so instead of being sad, i focus on the fact, that the are always there, if it is...

Thanks for your sincere replies.

I know what you mean about living in UK and leaving my family and friends behind, but I have to prove myself that I can do more. This is my best shot because after couple of years I will be too old to do crazy things like this. And at the end I can always come back.

@BobaFett
That's how I want to think about the situation.

PS1: I can serve my military service just for a month after 3 years of working abroad. So that won't be an issue.

PS2: I lived in UK about a year 3 years ago but that was for educational purposes.

Seriously, whats so bad about uk? even i'm planning a move soon..my graduation is half done..and i have the option to complete my final year in uk..i'm thinking whether to go or not? hows life?..considering i'm a student and also indian..

@offliner, I can't say much..but one thing..do think about your family mate.. try to see from their perspective as well if the decision to move is good or not..

I love the UK and wouldnt move away but one thing that I would say about moving here is that it is expensive.

Im in the same boat as Offliner.
I have everything here cars, girls, extra money, can do whatever I want.

But I want to change it all and try something different, everything here is becoming monotonous, the types of people the places, the foods, the friends the parents and its getting to me.

I want out, but still not sure.
