> Sony Ericsson k850i hardware issues list
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys
i know there are loads of topics, but for me the bugs are talked about in seperate topics, would it not be an idea to get them all in here, then it could be sent to SE once we have a complete list?
i can get the ball rolling with probs i have had / others are reporting. (bare in mind i am talking about fixable problems - either by firmwire or taking it into a SE centre) not stuff like "keys to close together" etc
1) Rear Cover Creaking
2) Auto Lense Cover Sticking
3) A select few photos sent via Pic Messaging / blue tooth showing all fussy / un viewable (yet sent to a k800i they show up perfect)
Can the next person copy the above and add theirs / more popular faults?
Think it would be good for everyone to see a list altogether so they can look out for / be prepared for.
Mick.

think the last one of these was locked, with bugs now being reported in the firmware thread.

K850 Firmware Overview
this thread is fine if people want to list hardware issues rather than software ones which should be posted in the firmware thread please

cool, hardware problems away then!!
I've not had a problem with either of the first two off your list I have to say.
All reports I've heard of squeaking backs and sticking cam shutters have been from people who got theirs in the first week of release before they initially went out of stock.
It's a shame, becuse of the design of the back, theres no obvious IMEI label that shows build date or country...... not that ive seen anyway.
anyone else spotted one?

I can't see one looking in the battery compartment but if it was there it would be hard for us to read anyway.
better to look at the label on the side of the box it came in

About this rear cover creaking...
I hear lots of people complaining about it, is it that bad?
Also, about the battery cover, is it loose, giving the feeling it will open?

No, the creaking back cover is
not a defect. It's SE's trade mark on all phones since the K750i.

my former k750 used to creak, but neither a w810 nor a k790 which I own have ever creaked. now, a wobbling battery cover would be a serious letdown.

Same. K800 is the first phone that has a solid battery cover (ie doesn't creak). So I'm not really concerned about it as long as it's not actually weak. A bit of creaking does not a bad phone make.
